Hi everyone!

I’m Laura, a designer/illustrator based out of Edmond, Oklahoma. Welcome to my website!

Originally from central Illinois, I earned my degree in Industrial Design from the University of Illinois and began my career designing things like lanterns and vases for a gift and home decor manufacturing company. But I quickly found myself more interested in the graphic designers’ projects, jumping at any chance to play around with patterns in Illustrator.

I fell in love with stationery design when I created my own wedding invitations in 2008, and when a cross-country move opened the door to a new career, I began designing all sorts of pretty paper products for the online stationery retailer, Minted, and eventually through my own custom design studio, Duncan Park Papers. Fast forward eight years—wow, time goes by fast—and I’ve moved all over the country (Missouri, Hawaii, Missouri again, Maryland, and finally Oklahoma) with my former military husband and our growing family, all the while expanding my Minted collection and shipping out custom orders to clients near and far.

In early 2016, I decided to close Duncan Park Papers to focus on art licensing opportunities and surface pattern design after my second daughter was born. Creating the patterned backers had always been my favorite part of any stationery design, and cutting out the fulfillment side of my custom work just felt right in my current stage of life—which these days includes chasing my two sweet girls around and trying to keep them from growing at the speed of light!

My work has been featured in the pages of Country Living and Vanity Fair, as well as on blogs such as Style Me Pretty, Green Wedding Shoes and Design Work Life. In 2016, I was the recipient of a LOUIE Award from the Greeting Card Association for an invitation design I created for Minted.

I would describe my style as sweet, hand drawn and whimsical, and I’m a sucker for a unique repeat or clever use of material. I am interested in licensing my art for fabric, stationery, gift wrap and most everything in between-- well designed children's products would be a dream collaboration.

If you are interested in licensing my work or collaborating on a project, please drop me a line at hello@laurahankins.com- I look forward to hearing from you!
